About "quality"

  • URUSHI (Lacquer)
    It is a paint that has made from a sap of the "Urushi" tree. The sap's original color is milky white, and add to it black, vermilion, etc. paint, before paint something.
    In Japan, it has very special characteristic, and it has been in close contact with human life as paint and adhesives from way back.
    It is very durable among natural paints and adhesives, and it is excellent in acid resistance, alkali resistance and water resistance.
    Further, "fascinating distinctive texture" as only a "Urushi-nuri" could, is attraction of it.
    This unique texture has been rated in the world, when look a "Japan" up in a dictionary, "(Japanese)lacquerware" is listed among the explanation of a word "Japan".

  • Cashew Lacquer
    It is a way of painting that using a paint which is made from the oil extracted from cashew nut shells, instead of using lacquer paint.
    The cashew trees is belong to the plant family called Anacardiaceae(it is same plant family as lacquer tree), because its properties has very similar to lacquer, and in the texture of its product, it is not so easy to distinguish between the lacquerware and the ware with this paint.
    However, the cashew paint is different from the lacquer, it is not will be harden compared to lacquer in nature. In order to change it hard on the same level with lacquer, the cashew paint is added a dab of solvent . Therefore, it cannot be fully called natural paint.
    In product of Yamada Heiando, the cashew lacquer is not used for create vessel which is touch with mouth directly.

  • Urethane coating
    It is a paint that has represented the texture of the lacquer. In recent years, since the technology has advanced, it is not so easy to distinguish between the lacquerware and the ware with this paint.
    It is relatively low cost, and it is best to use on daily life .

  • "Hon-Kin-paku","Kin-paku"
    It is what striking gold by hammer, and makes gold to stretching thinly (like foil state). It is equivalent to so called "Gold leaf" in English.
    In product of Yamada Heiando, by coating lacquer on "Kin-paku", "Kin-paku" will hard to come off.
    In Yamada Heiando writes, "Hon-Kin-paku" is made from gold itself,"Kin-paku" is a thing which is using gold paint and try to create texture close to "Hon-Kin-paku".

  • "Hon-Gin-paku","Gin-paku"
    It is what striking silver by hammer, and makes silver to stretching thinly (like foil state). It is equivalent to so called "silver leaf" in English.
    In product of Yamada Heiando, by coating lacquer on "Gin-paku", "Gin-paku" will hard to come off.
    In Yamada Heiando writes, "Hon-Gin-paku" is made from silver itself,"Gin-paku" is a thing which is using silver paint and try to create texture close to "Hon-Gin-paku".
